Clark Planetarium

As as family we all went to the Clark Planetarium at the Gateway. It was a fun little outing. We saw the light show "Extreme Planets" in the dome. It was pretty cool, just a bit more educational then entertaining then we were hoping.

This huge ball contraption was the favorite with the kids. They could have watched the balls go up and down through the maze all day.

Frozen on the Mountain

While up in Utah we made a trip up to Brighton. I love skiing, however I think living in AZ for 4 years has made me a whimp when it comes to the cold. Brian did very well on the slopes. He even went down a blue square run. WAY TO GO!

Look at Brian's form!!!! He makes a good pizza slice. While skiing he made good friends with a pine tree. Thank you pine tree for not hurting him.

Christmas in February

Since we weren't able to get all together as a family for Christmas, we waited to do our gift exchange this last weekend while Lori and Cindy were up from Arizona. We even had the traditional rice pudding and Dad got the almond for the first time after about 35 years of doing this. He didn't even let us guess who had it, because he was too excited to keep it hiden.

Is there room for one more?

We gave Dad a gift certicate to Sports Authority to buy himself a good pair of exercise shoes. He's now ready to train for the marathon with the boys!

We gave mom a convection oven. Just what she's always wanted!

Steve and Kelly gave Lori and Brian this beautiful picture frame. After making them think Kelly had made it for them, and Lori sweating and trying to give it compliments, the truth came out it was a wedding gift given to Jessica and Matt that was used as a white elephant at the Flinders Christmas Party. You better all watch out, you don't know when it will show up again!
(Their real gift was some pizza pans and a pizza cutter, so if you visit them you better expect homemade sourdough pizza!)

Brent got a gift certifacte to Itunes from Lori and Brian. Now he can have some new stuff to listen to while he runs.
We had a really fun time. Lots of other great gifts were given. They just weren't captured on camera.

What Kids Will Eat

This is what Brennan wanted for dinner...pancakes dipped in ketchup. Yummy! I couldn't talk him out of the ketchup part. He was pretty persistant on getting it. So, I thought I'd let him try it, and Wow he actually kept going for more. I guess anything's good dipped in ketchup, right?

Spring Has Sprung...Hopefully!

Today we enjoyed beautiful weather. All the snow is pretty much gone. So, we were finally able to get outside and go to the park. Brennan asks me almost daily if we can go to the park, and so he was pretty excited when I told him we could go today. Hopefully, there will be a lot more days like this!

Home away from home

Here is our home on wheels. Brian is hoping that some day he will have a truck to pull the trailor and four wheelers to fill the trailor.

Let me give you a tour of the inside. Well this is about it. The door off the kitchen is the bathroom. Further back is a queen bed. Where I am standing taking the picture there are two queen size beds that drop down. I think total it can sleep 8 to 10 people. So everyone come on down and we can all sleep inside. Everything folds up so it turns into a big open space and it is suppose to fit 3-4 four wheelers.

New Fire Station

Big News for our little town of Snowflake...we just got a new state of the art Fire Station. This is about as exciting it gets around here. They had an open house today that we went to. We went on a tour, then they had free hotdogs, drinks, and doughnuts. Yummy, just what a pregnant lady needs! It's a very nice facility, especially since the town doesn't even have a full time crew. It's all volenteer based. I guess they are planning on the town growing enough to one day have a full time crew.
Jason playing Fireman...getting to slide down the pole. Brennan was so sad he wasn't old enough to go down.

The docking station for the trucks as you can see, is Huge! They have it set up so the trucks can go out the front or the back.

Play School

I've started doing a play school with Brennan. (Thanks Ann for some of your ideas!) We've started doing it a couple times a week. It's nice to have sometime with him that is somewhat organized and structured. Instead of the whole day being wild and crazy! Brennan really enjoys it too! Here are some of the activities we've done:
We made a book "Green Square, Green Square, What do you see?" It follows the pattern of Brown Bear, Brown Bear. It's to help him with his colors and shapes.

At the beginning of the week when it snowed, I thought it would be fitting to make a snowman picture. It's made with marshmallows and Karo syrup and of course chocolate chips for the eyes and buttons. Brennan had more fun eating the supplies then actullay putting the snowman together.

Brennan is sorting fruit loops into the right colored cup.

I hid a bunch of small objects into a contanier of rice. He had fun digging through it and finding all sorts of fun things. As he pulled an object out he then had to put it on the corrisponding color of paper.

Snow Day

Today we have gotten the most snow yet for the season. We probably have a foot out there by now. Jason went into work this morning, but they sent him home an hour later. So we spent the day playing in the snow!

Brennan following in his Daddy's footsteps.

Look at the big snowball we made!

Yum, this snow tastes good!

Gettin' warm after being out in the cold.
