Happy 1st Birthday Madison

We all love you!

Easter Vacation

This year for Easter we went to Moab and Arches National Park. We had a great time for 3 days with about a million other people, that weekend is also the Jeep Safari weekend. We spent two days in Arches and hiked and hiked until our girls were done. Ashley was a little trooper she is a great little hiker.

Lori...This One's for You

Lori, I ran across this website for you, http://www.bountifulhigh1998.blogspot.com/.

Also for those that are interested, on the website is a music video by Collin Raye called "Quitters." The star of the video is Brandon Sulser who graduated from Bountiful that year. He was down at Lake Powell the summer after he graduated and got paralyzed from a diving accident. It's a very good video. You should all check it out.

Practicing for the New Baby

Earlier today Brennan pulled out all his stuffed animals to the couch and told me he was making a Zoo. He then needed his Baby Sarah to sit with him, while he read to all his animal friends.

Baby Sarah was getting fusy, so Brennan was trying to sooth her with her pacifer.
I hope he's this sweet with the new baby!

Then he catch me with the camera, so this is him yelling at me, "No more pictures, Mommy!" I guess he didn't want me showing everyone his sensitive side.

Our Easter Weekend

We had a very nice Easter weekend. The City of Snowflake did an Easter egg hunt on the golf course that we went to Saturday morning. I had no idea so many people lived in this small town. I guess everyone came out of the woodworkings for the big event! There was a grouping of 1-2 year old years that Brennan was in. And all he got was a bunch of hard boiled eggs, so nothing too exciting. Good thing I had a good stock pile of Easter candy at home!

Brennan and Jason fighting the crowds.

Showing off his soccer ball basket filled with all the eggs he picked up.

Later that night after eating candy all day and a yummy ham dinner, we played Dance, Dance Revolution to work off some of those calories. It didn't last too long with a 2 year old and a dog running around wanting to be in on the fun.

Brennan taking a turn, showing off his moves.

Best Buds! This was Sunday afternoon, right before Lori and Abby left. The whole time Lori was getting the car ready. Brennan followed Abby around with her leash.

We had a nice time, but missed being around the rest of the family. Thanks Lori and Abby for coming up to share Easter with us!

Interesting Facts about Easter

I've been wondering why Easter is so early this year and how it gets determined, and I ran across this info. I found it interesting so I thought I'd share...

As you may know, Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon, after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). [I did not know this!] This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Here are a couple of things you might be interested in. Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here are the facts: The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!). The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818.

So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

Luck "O" the Irish

This was us being festive yesterday. Brennan and I made these silly hats to wear.

We had a very GREEN dinner. Sorry mom, no corned beef and cabbage, that is probably one tradtion I won't carry on. Instead I made a an Irish Sherperd's Pie with GREEN mashed potatoes on top, GREEN jello, GREEN salad, and GREEN sprite.

After dinner we had a treasure hunt to find dessert that a little leprechaun left us. It was a Grasshopper Pudding Pie. Yummy! I got the recipe on the Kraft Foods Website. (I did make a few alterations.) It was very tasty and low in fat and calories. I recommend it to anyone who needs a light refeshing treat. The only problem is going to be when I eat the whole pie!

Our Sunbeam

Every Monday for Family night, Brennan wants to sing the same two songs. The first being "Who Stole the Cookies from the Cookie Jar." Tonight when we got to him stealing the cookies, sorry mom , but he accused you. He said "Gramdma Joan stole the cookies." I guess he knows you all to well. The second song he always wants to sing is "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam." He just does it so cute, we had to get it on video. And as he's learned well, treats always come after Family Night!

Bye, Bye Diapers

So this past week has been an eventful, but messy one. We've been potty training Brennan. He has done extremely well. I must say he has better bladder control then his poor pregnant mother! We got him some snazy big boy underwear that he just loves! So thank you Fruit of the Loom for using cartoon characters as a marketing ploy! Yippy! I'm diaper free (except for a nighttime diaper) for the next 2 months-then I have to start everything all over again.

Crazy Kids

I'm finally getting around to posting my pictures from our trip to Utah. I've definatly been a blog slacker lately! All my pictures are of the kids, I guess that's who everyone wants to see anyway and they were the most entertaining! We couldn't get Steve, Rob, and Brent to re-inact their break-dancing for us! We had a great time and it was so good seeing everyone! Brennan loved the time he got to spend with all his cousins. Thanks Mom and Dad for having us all!
Mary dancing around!

The cutest babies, both with the cutest cheeks. You can't help but want to kiss them!

Ann trying to entertain the kids. It worked for about 2 minutes!

On their way to "school" in the school bus, singing "The Wheels on the Bus."

Once they got to school, Mary was the teacher and so therefore teaching the others how to clean. They started with their chairs and then the piano. Grandma was a big fan of this game!

After the cleaning was done, it was storytime.

Grandpa sure was a fun jungle gym.

Tomb Raider vs Rage Against the Machine

Brian and I had fun going to a lazer tag birthday party. Our good friend was born on leap year and turned 10 (40) on Friday. He had a party at Lazer Quest and had a Shrek themed party. We even got a bag of Shrek party favors.
