Brennan Can't Wait

Yesterday after my doctor's appointment (my due date is May 17th, so I have a little over 3 weeks to go! 23 days to be exact.) we went over to the hospital to pre-register and to take a look around. When we got to the parking lot, Brennan asked where we were. I told him this is where we are going to come to get Baby Amelia. After registering and checking things out, it was time to go. As we were walking out, Brennan started crying, " Where's Baby Mia, I want to take her home now." If only it were that easy!!!

Fun by the Pool

Brennan has been asking all weekend to go swimming. The pool is still a little cold for me. I like my water 85 degrees or higher and 100 degrees outside (this is what living in AZ has done to me). We are not crazy like Rob and Elaine who jump into their pool before it reaches 70 degrees. We did wade our feet and splash each other. I am hoping the water will be warm enough to go swimming in the next couple of weeks.

Hold on tight

When Brennan goes out by the pool he feels he needs an Icee

Cindy and Brennan testing the water. Abby is not sure about the pool. She always keeps a safe distance.

Brennan was wanting to jump in until he felt the water

Yummy Cookies

Cindy and Brennan came over for the weekend. While they were here we kept busy. One of the things we did was make cookies. I wanted to share the recipe with you all.

1 box cake mix (we used a chocolate cake mix)
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil

We added chocolate chips to the cookie dough

Cook at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes.

They are soooo good and sooooo easy.

Big News for Snowflake

A new store just opened up this week in our small town of Snowflake. Yippee, a Dollar Tree. For any of you that have been here, know that there is absolutely NO shopping! Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come. This is the 3rd dollar store in town, and compared to Dollar General and Family Dollar this one takes the cake! You may all think I'm crazy for blogging this, but you come live here and then we'll see how crazy you get!

Our Sunday Walk

We enjoyed a beautiful Sunday evening. The wind wasn't blowing, which was a pleasant change. We took advantage of it and went for a walk. We live just a few blocks from the temple, so it's a perfect place for a Sunday stroll.

The Snowflake Temple

My huge belly and our not so huge town below.

The view from where I was standing is the same no matter which way you look out. We really do live in the middle of nowhere!

Some beautiful Spring flowers for you!

Colcord Campground

Yesterday Lori and some friends were up our way camping. (Living in the middle of nowhere has sure changed my perspective of distances. An hour to get somewhere doesn't seem too bad to us anymore). So we drove down and spent the day with them. It was nice to get out and enjoy the nice weather and the Great Outdoors for the day. And Brennan sure had fun getting dirty!

Brennan lookin' pretty cool on the four wheeler.

We ate the traditional Hotdogs and Smores over the fire.

Brennan making a complete mess of himself.

Chicken and Dumplings

I tried this new recipe for dinner tonight and it was yummy and easy. I love using my crock pot, and since I'm always looking for new recipes to use it with, I thought I'd share it with all of you. I did make a few changes though they are at the bottom.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

INGREDIENTS
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 onion, finely diced
2 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces

DIRECTIONS
Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough water to cover.
Cover, and cook for 7 to 8 hours on low or 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 min. before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.

Here are my alterations:

I used 1 can cream of celery and 1 cream of chicken, because I didn't have another cream of chicken. I'm sure cream of mushroom would also work.

I added a little cumin, parsley, chicken bouillon, and pepper to give it more flavor.

I added a few stalks of celery and a few potatoes at the beginning. And added some frozen peas and carrots and shredded the chicken right before I added the biscuits.

I also only used one can of biscuits and they needed to be cooked more like an 1 1/2 hours instead of 30 min. . Jason also suggested not tearing them up as much, so they are bigger. I guess the bigger the pieces the longer they need to cook.

All in all, it was very tasty. You can do a lot with the recipe to make it your own. Enjoy!

Time for Change

Brennan has still been sleeping in his crib up until now. At 2 1/2 he has not yet figured out to climb out. Now don't get me wrong, it's been Great! Once he's in there, he's in there for good till I get him out. But we thought with the baby coming soon, it's time to get some adjustments made before hand. So last night we converted the crib into a toddler bed. We thought we'd try that before we get him a "big boy bed." The first night went completely smooth. He was so excited to sleep in it, he was telling us he wanted to go to bed. (It mostly probably had to do with his lack of sleep at Lori's. We defiantly were all in need of a good night's rest!) But, so so far so good! But, again nothing lasts forever, right?

It's Cheeto Time!

We had a nice time visiting Lori this last weekend. Jason had to go down for Mesa on Friday for a training. I always love his trainings because that means we get to go spend time with Lori in the sun! I was very neglectful in taking pictures.(Lori took some..so look forward to her posts). Anyway, Friday afternoon we went to Fry's, they were having a mega sale (we even had to go back on Saturday for more). Well, they had Cheetos on sale so I bought a bag for our trip home, and so that ment Brennan had to wait all weekend to eat them. This morning when we were getting the car packed up to leave, he climbed in his car seat and yelled, "It's Cheeto Time!" I just had to open them up for him, even though it was only 9:30 in the morning. He had waited so patiently and he doesn't forget a thing I tell him. These pictures are just minutes away from Lori's. He's such a junk food junkie, just like his mom!

The ROB Littlefield Family 1st Annual Blog

Well, it is a wonder that y'all have so few things to blog about. I mean, we can't begin to share with you all the wonderful and exciting things that are happening at our home.
I suppose I could start with today. Ann went for a walk in the early am. Ellie was awake next, then Rob, Mary and Ethan. We had breakfast at 7:30a.m. and ate waffles. Ellie had pears and oatmeal. Prayer, scriptures, morning paper, pack Rob's lunch, get another glass of milk, change two diapers, do Mary's hair, send Ethan to room for crying over nothing, pull sheets off bed to do laundry, kiss Rob goodbye at 8:00a.m., Mary runs to carpool at 8:15a.m.
Rest of day: Rob runs to post office and two other Walgreens' in area to pick up stuff. Thinks of how he is going to approach employee who has missed 15 days in past three months. Sends video stream of two men robbing his store. Goes to gym during lunch. Fills many, many ink cartridges for free refill day-hands purple, black and stained. Comes home cooks dinner on grill, reads book on back patio while waiting. Eats and runs to young men's.
Ann wades through laundry room to get maybe one load done for the day. Hosts book club at 2p.m.- Takes 10 minutes beforehand picking up 70 or so toys that have lost their way. Changes 3 dirty diapers of Ellie's and 1 of Ethan's. Says hi to uh, um oh- Rob. Makes nice discovery- the quietest place in house is kitchen when nothing is left but the dishes. Bathes kids. Blogs- waits for sign in and blog site for most of the time. Tries to download picture of children bored-takes to long. Finishes.
We'll see you next year!!!
